We put family time as top priority, working, playing, singing together, we have 7 children, 3 are married and live away, leaving 4 still at home.
Our chicken farm started rather unexpectedly. We had wanted to do this for years, and one of our friends was wanting to get out of his chicken farm. So he suddenly called us one day and offered his equipment, 3-4 grocery stores he was supplying, and 300 laying hens. With much scrambling and effort from everyone, the barn was quickly raised, and everything was moved over here and we were in business! Thinking it would just be a small portion of our livelihood, and not thinking it would amount to much, we named our little farm What a Yolk Egg Farm.Wanting to service the organic free range market with our eggs.Many learning curves happened in the next year, but through it all, our little business was steadily growing.Today we are supplying 14 grocery stores with our eggs. We have had a lot of fun along the way, and it is turning the corner and becoming our mainstay for which we are pleasantly surprised! Looks like the What a Yolk Egg Farm is not going to be the what a joke we thought it would be!!
